Terry Swails
Swails is a television meteorologist with 33 years of experience. His forecasts have been seen in eastern Iowa, western Illinois, and southwest Wisconsin. He is a published author with two books, Superstorms: Extreme Weather in the Heart of the Heartland and Un-Natural Disasters: Iowa’s EF5 Tornado and the Historic Floods of 2008. Swails is also the owner and operator of terrryswails.com, a regional weather forecasting website. He is a regional favorite having been voted “Best Meteorologist” by numerous eastern Iowa and western Illinois newspapers for more than a decade. His weather forecasts have also been featured in the Quad City Times and local radio stations.
Carolyn Wettstone
Wettstone is a former television news anchor and award-winning investigative reporter. Her news reports have been seen in Iowa and western Illinois. She received a Regional Emmy for best morning newscast at KCCI-TV in Des Moines. She is a published author with her first book, Un-Natural Disasters: Iowa’s EF5 Tornado and the Historic Floods of 2008 winning critical praise from the Des Moines Register. Wettstone is currently a writer and documentary producer with her first feature length film, Sheltering Kevin, presented at the IMAX Theater in Davenport in 2006.
Tom Skilling
Skilling is a popular meteorologist in Chicago, Illinois. He is the weather anchor for the WGN News at Noon and WGN News at Nine. He also writes the daily weather column in the Chicago Tribune. His weather broadcasts have always featured the latest technology in computer imagery and animation techniques. He has long been hailed for his in-depth reports and striking accuracy. Millions of people tune in daily to hear his reports on superstation WGN. Skilling is a member of the American Meteorological Association and National Weather Association. He hosts annual tornado and severe weather seminars at the Fermi National Accelerator Lab (Fermilab) in Illinois. 2006 marked the 25th year of the seminar. "Skillful", as WGN colleague Bob Collins used to call him, was consulted for the movie The Weather Man.
Jim Reed
Reed is one of the world's most accomplished extreme-weather photographers, has spent two decades documenting almost every type of meteorological phenomena. He has appeared on Good Morning America, the Today Show, the 700 Club, 20/20,and numerous other TV and radio programs to discuss his work. He is the author of Hurricane Katrina: Through the Eyes of Storm Chasers, and lives in Wichita, Kansas. “Jim Reed is one of the best storm chasers in the country” says Diane Sawyer of Good Morning America. “Jim Reed captures the fury as you’ve never seen it before,” says Dan Rather of the CBS Evening News. “An expert storm chaser with amazing pictures,” says CNN America Morning.
